The cover is a solid cover that snaps into the gutter system. At the edge furthest away from the roof, there is a tiny lit that is under the lip of the cover that leads to the empty gutter section. When water runs off the roof carrying debris, it easily flows over the solid gutter cover and over the edge. However, the water sticks to the cover for just a moment longer than the debris allowing it to fall into the gutter system through the slit. These gutter guards are the top of the line and look great from the curb.
